Cartagen's Founder Returns to Lead Company.
San Carlos, CA – June 1, 2008
- Cartagen, a key provider of niche products for the AgBio industry, today announced that the company’s founder, Steven Kirsher, has returned to lead the company as President and CEO. Previously, Kirsher founded Cartagen in 2003 and served a President and CEO of both Cartagen Inc. and it’s operational subsidiary Cartagen Molecular Systems Inc. from 2003 to 2006. During that period, Kirsher was closely involved with the development of Cartagen’s innovative reagent kits as well as developing a customer first focus.
“I am very excited to step back into a leadership position and re-establish Cartagen as the premier supplier of niche products for the Agricultural Biotechnology industry’” said Kirsher. “The last year has been trying for Cartagen and our customers as the company experienced a significant lack of leadership which directly impacted the company’s ability to meet customers expectations. I offer my sincere apologies to Cartagen’s customer’s,” commented Kirsher ”and it is my goal is to re-establish the trust that our customers had in our company and continue to work with our customers to develop new products and applications to support their research needs. We are currently shipping limited orders and expect the company to be fully operational by the middle of June.”
Kirsher further commented, “I have laid out specific steps to immediately transform the Cartagen back to the company that our customers had known and trusted. First, we are consolidating our operational subsidiary, Cartagen Molecular Systems, Inc. into the parent company Cartagen Inc. Second, we have secured additional investment to ensure to our ability to continue to develop innovative products for our customers. Third, we are updating our website with new product information and updated support features. Fourth, we have relocated our operations to a new facility in Hercules, California with improved research and production capabilities. And finally, to express our apologies to our customers, especially those that have stuck with us through these trying times, we will provide a 20% discount on all our Genomic DNA Isolation Kits and Rapid Homogenization Buffer Sets between now through the end of 2008. This discount applies to our US customers and our international direct customer sales. We will work with our distributors to offer an appropriate discount for our other international customers”.
Cartagen Molecular Systems, Inc. was founded in early 2003 to manufacture and sell innovative kits for life science research.
