Cartagen Molecular Systems Relocates Research and Manufacturing Operations to San Carlos.
SEATTLE, WA – June 1, 2006
- Cartagen Molecular Systems, Inc. announced today that it has completed the relocation of its research and manufacturing operations to its new facility located in San Carlos, California. The new facility provides increased research and manufacturing capacity and allows greater access to the San Francisco Bay Area biotechnology community.
“The San Carlos facility allows us to provide a higher level of service to our customers, especially in California’s agricultural regions.” commented Steven Kirsher, President and CEO of Cartagen. “Seattle has been a great partner during the incubation of Cartagen Molecular Systems as it developed a strong product line to support researchers in the AgBio community. Cartagen will maintain a sales and marketing office in the Seattle area and continue its commitment to the growth of Seattle’s biotech industry.”
The new site will also allow for the incubation of Pathograph Inc., a joint venture between Cartagen and Entest Japan Inc. Pathograph Inc. will provide research and applications support for Cartagen’s sales of the Pathograph™. The Pathograph is a novel instrument for the rapid detection of pathogens in food and water samples.
Cartagen Molecular Systems, Inc. was founded in early 2003 to manufacture and sell innovative kits for life science research. The company focuses on providing competitively-priced tools in convenient formats that enable life scientists to perform selected key techniques and methods which increase the pace of their research.
