Cartagen and Investigen Form Strategic
Partnership
SEATTLE, WA – September 16th, 2003:
Cartagen Molecular Systems, Inc. announced
today that it has been granted a license
to manufacture and distribute a new proprietary
DNA separation technology created by Investigen,
Inc. of Hercules, CA. Founded in 1998,
Investigen has successfully created tests
for food quality assurance, health care,
environmental safety, and industry. The
DNA isolation technology they have developed
focuses on quick and efficient extraction
of DNA from complex food and plant samples.
Isolating DNA from these difficult samples
was previously challenging, often requiring
researchers to spend valuable time and
energy modifying kits designed for isolations
from simpler material. Investigen’s
new technology allows for easy, rapid
and cost effective isolation of DNA from
these critical but more complex samples.

this nucleic acid separation technology,"

demonstrated their ability to identify
unmet needs in the research community

for GMO certification.”

in early 2003 to manufacture and sell
innovative reagent kits for the life science
